HR Assistant Job Description
The Human Resources Assistant in this position shall assist HR Specialists in all work performed by the Human Resources Services Branch.
Specific Job Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Ensure all electronic timesheets are closed by employees and supervisors each pay period
- Processing all personnel and payroll action requests;
- Audits (OPM, DOL, leave, etc);
- Non-performance awards (inventory, administration, etc);
- Front desk coverage
- Security investigations;
- HR help desk (coverage provided from 8:15 am to 4:45 pm);
- New hire orientation and administrative support (copying, scanning and uploading documents, running reports, etc.)
- The Human Resources Assistants may assist with staffing and recruitment, as needed.
Qualified applicants must have:
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Federal civilian human resources program relating to Federal Human Resources and OPM Guidelines with particular emphasis on “The Guide to Personnel Record Keeping” and “The Guide to Personnel Processing.”
- Experience in a payroll/processing environment. The experience includes:
Entering data into an automated personnel/payroll system.
Auditing actions and correcting errors.
Responding to inquiries.
Providing assistance to employees and managers in processing personnel/payroll actions.
