Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, toileting, changing linens, and meal assistance.
- Support patient mobility through lifting, moving, and ambulation assistance.
- Provide close observation and sitter services, including tele-sitting and one-on-one monitoring, as needed.
- Document patient observations, behavior, and physical care on designated flow sheets every tour, with intervals as frequent as 15 minutes, under the direction of the RN or charge nurse.
- Deliver direct patient care, including collecting specimens, monitoring vital signs, managing intake/output, and performing foley care and basic medical equipment setup (e.g., oxygen and suction devices).
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families through clear and effective communication. Serve as a preceptor for new CNAs, guiding their orientation and clinical practice.
- Monitor and respond to emergent care situations, including providing basic life support, preventing falls, managing bleeding, and assisting during behavioral crises until additional help arrives.
- Immediately report changes in patients' physical or mental condition to the assigned or charge nurse.
Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistants must have one (1)-year experience within the last three (3) years.
- Must be US citizens or must provide proof of citizenship.
- Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or an equivalent provider.
- Maintain an updated immunization schedule, including Hepatitis B vaccination/signed declination form and TB testing.
- Must be willing to complete orientation and training required for the role. Knowledge and skills will be assessed upon completion of training to ensure competency.
