Public Health Communications Specialist
Location: Fairfax County, VA
Position Type: Full-Time Contract
Normal Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Overview:
The Public Health Communications Specialist develops and delivers strategic communications to promote health programs, engage the community, and support public health initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop communication plans and materials for public health programs
• Write and edit press releases, website content, and social media posts
• Coordinate public events and outreach campaigns
• Monitor media coverage and respond to public inquiries

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field
• Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in public health or government communications
• Familiarity with digital media tools and analytics
