Position Overview
RieLes Group is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist / Injury Manager (PT/IM) to provide full-time Human Performance Optimization (HPO), physical therapy, and injury management services at Moffett Field, CA

The PT/IM will serve as the primary injury manager and physical therapist for Air Force Special Warfare and operational personnel, providing injury evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and performance support. The position will work closely with unit personnel, medical subject matter experts, and leadership to support readiness and return personnel to full-duty status

The position supports the 131st Rescue Squadron (RQS) and 129th Operations Group (OG) Aircrew. The PWS allocates an estimated 28 hours per week to the 131st RQS and 12 hours per week to the 129th OG, for a total of 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary Injury Manager and Physical Therapist for assigned personnel
  • Evaluate injuries and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans
  • Provide physical therapy treatment, rehabilitation, and injury management services
  • Coordinate treatment plans with individual service members, unit medical personnel, and squadron/flight leadership
  • Conduct physical assessments and establish baseline performance information when appropriate
  • Provide exercises, stretching, hands-on therapy, therapeutic equipment, braces, and other appropriate treatment techniques
  • Support injury prevention, mobility, sports medicine, performance maintenance, recovery, and rehabilitation
  • Help personnel decrease pain, improve mobility, prevent further injury, and return to full-duty status
  • Collect, analyze, and present injury, utilization, and performance-related trends while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Maintain professional physical therapy documentation and treatment records using the Government-provided tracking system
  • Prepare monthly reporting covering injuries, HPO service utilization, equipment status, and other required metrics
  • Present injury and utilization trend information to unit leadership at least quarterly or as requested
  • Serve as an advisor to the COR, Command Teams, Flight and Element leadership on injury prevention, rehabilitation, sports medicine, and physical performance
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with Government personnel to improve patient care and HPO services
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and effective treatment environment

These responsibilities are drawn from the PWS requirements for physical therapy, injury management, documentation, reporting, and leadership support

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university
  • Active California Physical Therapy License
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • At least three (3) years of experience working with one or more of the following:
  • Air Force Special Warfare (AFSPECWAR) units
  • Operational units within the U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) community
  • NCAA athletes
  • Olympic-level athletes
  • Professional sports teams
  • Experience working with HIPAA-protected information
  • Experience documenting individual evaluations and treatments in a HIPAA-compliant system
  • Ability to aggregate, analyze, and present unit injury, utilization, and trend information in a HIPAA-compliant manner
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required California licenses and certifications

The PWS specifically requires a master's or doctorate in physical therapy, California PT licensure, BLS certification, HIPAA experience, and at least three years of relevant experience with AFSPECWAR, SOF, NCAA, Olympic-level, or professional sports personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Board certification through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) or Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS)
  • Current Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification
  • Experience supporting high-performance military, athletic, or sports environments
  • Experience with injury trend analysis and human performance optimization programs

ABPTS OCS/SCS certification and CSCS certification are identified as preferred, but not required, by the PWS

Work Environment
This is an onsite position at Moffett Field/Moffett Air National Guard Base in Santa Clara County, California. Primary work locations include designated evaluation, treatment, and gym facilities supporting the 131st RQS and 129th OG

Contractor support is generally provided between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with scheduled Unit Training Assembly weekend support. The PT may occasionally be required to evaluate an injury outside normal hours when reasonably necessary
