Description
We are seeking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide both inpatient and outpatient care. This role will involve collaboration with other departments, ensuring quality medical services, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform medical assessments for new clients admitted to The Relatives, PRTF, and foster care in all agency locations as needed.
- Provide medical care and/or consultation as appropriate for residential clients within scope of practice for credentials.
- Assist in maximizing billing for services provided
- Arranges schedule to be available for medication management, based on demand at all Alexander locations at least one time per month
- Will provide medication administration audits and/or consultation to the unlicensed staff to agency locations, except the main campus
- Exercise professional judgment in all matters involving the professional relationships and follow the standards of professional care, conduct, and responsibility applicable to rendering of professional services
- Cover on call duties at least one weekend per month for restrictive interventions and consultation
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, etc.
- Maintain open communication with other departments to ensure seamless client care.
- Attends training sessions as required for position and to maintain license/certification requirements
- Explains procedures and treatments to clients to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension through awareness of comfort and safety needs of client
- Observes client, records significant conditions and reactions, and relays information regarding patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol, including taking vital signs
- Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the client, as prescribed by centers policy including patient and family instruction

Qualifications:
- M.D. degree. Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist
- Must have and maintain a current Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Must have and maintain a current Physician License and Controlled Substance License from the State.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Ability to develop evidenced based practices and analyzes programmatic outcomes. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals.
- Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints from clients and families, and outside treatment providers, and members of the community.
- Ability to write articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to management and public groups.
- Ability to define and solve problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions while handling both abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to use hands, talk, and hear. May need to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, sit, and reach.
- Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
